March 28th is PIANO DAY, an international event that takes place on the 88th day of the year- cuz there are 88 keys on the piano.

This special concert+ will be Seattle's inaugural participation. We are making our event local, multi-generational, multicultural, and musically varied. It will include piano music from the esteemed artists, and personal stories of their relationship with their beloved instrument. A piano technician will introduce the technical aspects of this intricately constructed instrument, There will be some history of the piano presented; and a sharing of a specially designed prepared piano instrument built by the artist.

Worlds collide at the Swedish Club when Viking Disco meets Swedish New Year's Eve! Wear your grooviest Viking threads and get ready to ring out the old and dance in the new.

In Skandia Hall, Jen Ayers and the Perfect Storm (featuring Kathy Moore, Patrick Porter, Richard Davidson and Aimee Zoe) play your disco favorites, while Skandia Kapell offers traditional Swedish music and folk dancing on the lobby floor.

**The Social was created in April amidst the throngs of COVID. And, in light of the current global protests for a much larger, historic pandemic, around racism and police brutality, we couldn't merely launch this series and stand idly by. And so, we hope that this monthly concert series can also serve as a place to rage, to heal, to rest, to inspire, to motivate.

We recognize that the Columbia Hillman Arts & Cultural District is on the traditional land of indigenous people. Today, we are proud to unite artist and creatives from the diverse communities that now call Columbia and Hillman Cities home - through authentic and inclusive arts.

To that end, we unequivocally know that Black Lives Matter. We firmly know that we must invest in our communities. We unquestionably know that Enough is Enough!

This month's theme for The Social is COMFORT/DISCOMFORT.
We've asked our artists to create works that reflect this theme, however they want to engage with it.

We will accept contributions. 80% will go directly to artists, and the remaining 20% will go to Black Lives Matter Seattle Freedom Fund for bail relief.

Last week while we were enjoying a family virtual happy hour on Zoom, my sister-in-law said, “you know, since most of us are hanging out all day in our pajamas, you should do a Pajama Party Performance for us.”

Sooooo, keep those pajamas on and tune in for the show. I'll be singing and playing a bunch of my favorite female artist’s songs in my pajamas! And some special guests/friends will be joining in on the fun (remotely of course) to sing a tune – also in their PJ’s!
